Dodger Stadium – 50 Years Old
The cleanest stadium in all Major League Baseball (so says Ballparks.com). We can believe it. Despite recent controversies the Dodgers are a great team and play in a terrific stadium. It is a grand baseball experience. We suggest you join us for a 1-hour helicopter tour around Los Angeles plus a 3-hour ground tour to visit specific sites including, if you wish (it IS a custom tour), Chavez Ravine and Dodger Stadium.

Granddaddy of Flea Markets
The second Sunday of each month (next one – April 14th) finds thousands of shoppers converging on the biggest and best flea market around. Hundreds of vendors display their wares for crowds in the warm sunny atmosphere of the Arroyo Seco of Pasadena. The magnificent stadium and the San Gabriel Mountains as a backdrop provide a fun and exciting shopping excursion for locals and visitors. If you are enjoying a luxury tour of Los Angeles and want something outside of Rodeo Drive and high end retail, then the Rose Bowl Flea Market might be just the thing to excite you. See the Basketball Stars
If you have spent the day out on a custom private tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills hoping to see a movie star, well, you are unlikely to see them sitting in a lawn chair on their front yards or walking on a sidewalk entering a studio. Where you can pretty much count on seeing them is at a professional sporting event at the Staples Center. This year the Los Angeles Clippers are returning to celebrity favor and are a contending team in the strike-shortened season. Billy Crystal and Frankie Muniz are always regular Clipper fans but who else is joining the celebrity fans ranks? Drop by and see for yourself. Scoot Over to the Petersen
With the price of gas rising, yet again, getting around Los Angeles (when you are not on a tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills) on a scooter makes more and more sense (cents?). If you love scooters or think you might then this colorful exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile will entertain and educate you about scooter design and history. I just could not resist alerting everyone of this particular event if only because of the title NERDMELT. Good marketing because it sure got my attention. If you are into magic, comedy and comic books then you should make your way over to Meltdown Comics on Sunset Boulevard next Tuesday, March 20th at 8:00 p.m. for a chance to wonder, laugh and peruse. Justin Willman and Andrew Goldenhersh will amaze you and Project Dynamite will humor you. If you have been on a tour of Hollywood and are looking for things to do in Los Angeles at night then this is the place to be.

Marilyn at the Million Dollar
Have you ever been on Broadway? I mean, in Los Angeles? Yes, L.A. had its Broadway back in the day and the good news is that it’s coming back.
One of the great old movie palaces, The Million Dollar Theater, has been refurbished, renovated and renewed and is now a showcase for wonderful old movies.
Coming up on Wednesday, March 14th, are two great Marilyn Monroe classics: Gentlemen Prefer Blonds and Bus Stop. Since you just saw My Week with Marilyn (of course you did) wouldn’t a double-feature dose of MM be a perfect evening out and an opportunity to enjoy watching the movie as she did in a grand old movie theater. If you have just enjoyed a tour of Hollywood and Los Angeles and felt connected to Marilyn in some way then spending several hours with her on film is a perfect way to finish the day.

Rolling Stone on the Move
Finally, the giant rock to be used in Michael Heizer’s art installation, Levitated Mass, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), is on the road and beginning its 11-night, 105 mile journey from a Riverside quarry to the museum on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile neighborhood. Talk about a slow, custom tour of Los Angeles! Follow Rocky’s route and progress by visiting the LACMA website, www.lacma.org.

This is the 20th year that the Fashion Institute of Design and Manufacturing (FIDM) in downtown Los Angeles has exhibited costumes from films celebrated in the past year for their magnificent clothing designs. This year there are more than 100 costumes from more than 20 films released in 2011. Wouldn’t it be a great idea to include in your tour of Hollywood and Los Angeles filmmaking a visit downtown to this gallery to see this incredible exhibition?
