THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS DINNERS-IN-THE-PARK
For over 30 years, Union Station Homeless Services has sponsored annual Dinners-in-the-Park on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Held in Pasadena’s Central Park, these events bring together thousands of volunteers to serve a hearty meal and holiday cheer to our less fortunate community members.
Last year this organization served 8,500 meals on Thanksgiving and Christmas to people who were homeless, senior citizens, alone at the holidays, or unable to afford a holiday meal. While there are many things to do in Los Angeles, it is events such as this that foster community and remind us all the importance of the Holidays.
Help make this holiday season special by volunteering or donating food or toys these events. For more information, please call 626.240.4550 x542.
Thanksgiving @ the Laugh Factory
Owner Jamie Masada of The Laugh Factory provides a free Thanksgiving dinner and live comedy show every year to comedians, actors, writers and anyone else who is alone for the holidays. Each summer, he hosts a comedy camp where inner-city youths can learn how to write and perform standup from some of the biggest names in the business.
In addition to being one of the #1 things that I point out to our guests on a Hollywood Tour, the Laugh Factory is gem for exercising our laughter muscles! Thanksgiving Seatings are at 1, 3, 5 and 7 pm. Call 323-656-1336 x1 for reservations. 8001 Sunset Blvd. (323) 656-1336 x1

RUFF on Thanksgiving
I wanted to create some awareness of charitable events going on in November. So here is the first for this 2009 category. RUFF is a nonprofit 501C3 dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, unwanted or displaced animals in S OC and to providing financial assistance to those pet owners struggling to pay vet bills.
Whether you are visiting LA and looking for something inspirational in addition to doing one of the many California Adventure Tours, or you are a local looking to contribute before heading over to a family feast, this is sure to be time and money well spent!
