The stunning and elegant fir has traveled from the amazing landscape of McLeod, California in the Shasta region, brought in by Victor’s Custom Christmas Trees, and is 110 feet tall, will glow with 15,000 sparkling lights and will feature more than 10,000 ornaments.
The annual selection of the white fir tree is very important. Only a tree that is 80 years or older is chosen because it is near the end of the white fir’s grand life cycle. After the holidays the tree will be used for mulch; and 14 new white firs will be planted in its place. You if you are going to tour Los Angeles or you live here and you are looking for something fun to do on a Thursday, check it out @ 7:30pm Thursday November 19, 2009 @ Americana at Brand in Glendale California.
Last year the tree lighting event drew enormous crowds…….so I would suggest getting there early for dinner and/or a movie prior!
