Tour Los Angeles

No trip to Southern California is complete without a guided tour around the city of Los Angeles. As the largest and most influential city of the West Coast, Los Angeles is a hub of economic and social activity. If you plan to tour Los Angeles, however, it is important that you do your research to find a qualified guide and reliable transportation.

There are several options for touring the city—from buses and vans to helicopters. While they may be more expensive, helicopter tours are the way to go in my opinion. They usually allow you to go with only friends and family, making for a more personable atmosphere. Helicopter tours also allow you to see more of the city and afford you the freedom to go where you please.

We Ho

West Hollywood, a city of Los Angeles County, California, was incorporated on November 29, 1984. The latest residential population estimate was 34,675. The city is well-known for its nightlife, celebrity culture, and diverse atmosphere. The city has large gay, Jewish and eastern European populations. The area is informally referred to as “WeHo”.

The general plan describes the city as an urban village, interpreted by city residents as a neighborly, safe environment with a diversity of residents and businesses and streets that are green and walkable. West Hollywood is “urban” in the sense of traffic, nightlife, and general activity level, but the “village” component distinguishes the City from adjacent cities. This city is known as one of the largest gay villages in the United States.

Although just 1.9 square miles in size, West Hollywood is one of the highest profile communities in the Los Angeles area, full of celebrities and nightlife, and due to its central location among the generally wealthy communities west of downtown Los Angeles. Typically  showcased on tours of Los Angeles; goings-on in the city and surrounding areas are broadcast daily in media around the world, including on TMZ on TV from Sunset Boulevard and Crescent Heights Avenue (intersection actually in the city of Los Angeles)

Downtown Los Angeles

Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles, California, United States, located close to the geographic center of the metropolitan area. The area features many of the city’s major arts institutions and sports facilities, sightseeing opportunities, as a part of a private Hollywood tour, a variety of skyscrapers and associated large multinational corporations and an array of public art and unique shopping opportunities. Downtown is the hub of the city’s freeway network and growing Metro rapid transit system.

Though Downtown is generally thought to be bounded by the Los Angeles River on the east, theHollywood (101) Freeway to the north, the Santa Monica (10) Freeway on the south and the Harbor (110) Freeway on the west, some sources, including the Los Angeles Downtown News and Los Angeles Times, extend the area past the traditional boundary to include University Park andExposition Park (encompassing the University of Southern California (USC) and Central City Westneighborhoods.

Santa Monica

File:Santa monica beach dehk.jpgSanta Monica is a city in western Los Angeles County, California, USA. Situated on Santa Monica Bay, it is surrounded on three sides by the city of Los Angeles — Pacific Palisades on the northwest, Brentwoodon the north, West Los Angeles on the northeast, Mar Vista on the east, and Venice on the southeast.

The Census Bureau 2008 population estimate for Santa Monica is 87,664.[1] Santa Monica is named forSaint Monica of Hippo because the area on which the city is now located was first visited by Spaniards on her feast day. In the skateboard and surfing communities, Santa Monica’s Ocean Park neighborhood (and the neighboring section of Venice) is referred to as Dogtown.

Because of its agreeable climate, Santa Monica had become a famed resort town by the early 20th century. It is often the perfect place to stay, and a hub for “things to do in Los Angeles” The city has experienced a boom since the late 1980s through the revitalization of its downtown core with significant job growth and increased tourism.

Pumpkin Bread from Hollywood’s Dominican Nuns

When Hollywood keeps a secret, boy does it keep a secret. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills around Beachwood Canyon is this cloistered nunnery, known for baking and selling delicious pumpkin bread in its gift shop.

They do not ship this bread, so you actually have to visit Nunnery gift shop to get your hands on it, or perhaps encourage your tour guide to make a scrumptious stop on one of the popular LA Guided Tours that offer private & professional services.  Ahhh, some warm pumpkin bread with butter and a cup of coffee! The Gift That Says it Forever

File:HighVoltageTattoo02.jpgDo you know someone who watches the popular reality show LA Ink as they live vicariously through rock stars and scenesters who get their philosophies etched into their skin? Pop into the actual store where the program is shot and get a gift certificate for your ink-loving pal.  Countless  ”star tours Hollywood” pass by the shop daily.

The interesting part is that you can visit the shop when it is open, and most of the time they are filming.  You are stopped at the front door and have to read a bunch of disclosures that allow them to use your image on the show if they choose to; so check with you agent first, ok?  I like to take my clients in for a visit, if for no other reason to get a cool t-shirt.
