Comedians test out their material in front of crowds before their big shows all the time. So why not chefs before they open their next restaurant? Meet Test Kitchen, which opens next week in the much speculated-about former Spark Woodfire Grill space on Pico Boulevard. I will be talking about this is on my next private Hollywood tour. I love new and fresh ideas like this that I can share with our clientèle!
On a rotating basis, chefs and mixologists will take stage. Starting next August 18th will be Jordan Kahn’s “Red Medicine.” The $40 per person contemporary Vietnamese prix fixe menu consists of 12 items that will be served continuously family style. For drinks, mixologist Noah Ellis will pair dishes with wine and his cocktail creations. The duo will serve customers through August 22nd. Visiting chefs will be serving dishes they are working on for future restaurant projects. Mixologists provide innovative pairing opportunities and avenues to express their craft. Each chef will be working alone or in consultation with Ricardo Zarate, who is currently finalizing his own restaurant.
