The Hungry Cat Opens in Santa Monica
Another edition of the beloved seafood restaurant The Hungry Cat has opened, this one in an appropriately seaside location in Santa Monica. Chef-owner David Lentz (husband of chef Suzanne Goin) re-creates his eatery on Pacific Coast Highway with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant is peppered with nautical décor touches that provide a contrast to the more austere Hollywood and Santa Barbara locations. The food menu offers East Coast fare such as lobster rolls, peel-and-eat shrimp, several varieties of caviar and seafood platters from an extensive raw bar. This hungry cat is definitely full of variety, nothing but oodles of great seafood, the place to be while you tour LA. There’s a creative cocktail list, featuring inventions such as the Greyhound Proper and the Manhattan Beach (George Dickel Old No. 8 whiskey, Bénédictine, Carpano Antica, Combier and orange bitters).

Celebrate Cirque du Soleil in Los Angeles
Cirque du Soleil is celebrating the upcoming debut of IRIS, A Journey Through The World Of Cinema™ at the Kodak Theatre and it’s their 27th anniversary. One of the best theatre productions of the summer will be heading to Los Angeles for the whole month of July and August! This new production from Cirque du Soleil is a lyrical, fanciful, kinetic foray into the seventh art. A wonderful place of artistic movement, great place to be while you tour LA. Bringing together dance, acrobatics, live video, filmed sequences and animation, the show takes spectators on a fantastic voyage through the history of cinema and its genres, taking them into the heart of the movie-making process. From illustration to animation, black and white to colour, silent films to talkies, fixed shots to swooping camera movements, spectators witness the poetic construction/deconstruction of this art as an object and as a way of transcending reality.
