Venice on Blades not Gondolas
Walt Disney Concert Hall Wonder
No custom tour of Los Angeles is complete without a visit to the Walt Disney Concert Hall, home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Gustavo Dudamel. The building defies description and must be seen to be believed. The exterior is wondrous and the interior is breathtaking. Enjoy a private tour of Los Angeles with a stop for a special tour of the facility during the day and return in the evening for a concert to fully experience Frank Gehry’s otherworldly vision of what urban civic architecture can be.

Oysters on the Half Shell
Chaya Venice, a great place to stop for drinks and dinner any time, especially after having taken a tour of Malibu, Hermosa, Redondo and Santa Monica beach communities. The eatery often features oysters, the mollusk with a delicious jewel inside every shell. Oysters on the half-shell, fried oysters, oyster chowder are all amazing as well as being served with incredible meat and salad pairs. Oooo-la-la, if these dishes are not an aphrodisiac they will certainly arouse your taste buds. Enjoy!

The Culver Studios
The Culver Studios is a historic Colonial-styled movie studio located at 9336 W. Washington Boulevard in Culver City, California. It was the site of filming for Gone with the Wind, Citizen Kane and other classics from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Over the years this film lot has been home to such studio names as Pathé, RKO, Laird, Howard Hughes, and Desilu studios. Previous owners of Culver Studios have included Cecil B. DeMille and eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes.
In addition to film classics, Culver Studios was the birthplace of such TV favorites as The Andy Griffith Show, Hogan’s Heroes, Batman and Hallmark. Culver Studios has also been home to well-known TV shows over the years including Lassie, Batman and The Andy Griffith Show along with such recent hits as The Nanny, Deal Or No Deal (both the 2005-09 network version and the first season of the syndicated version), Las Vegas and Mad About You. Culver Studios can be highlighted on a custom private guided tour of Los Angeles and its film studios!

See the Basketball Stars
If you have spent the day out on a custom private tour of Hollywood and Beverly Hills hoping to see a movie star, well, you are unlikely to see them sitting in a lawn chair on their front yards or walking on a sidewalk entering a studio. Where you can pretty much count on seeing them is at a professional sporting event at the Staples Center. This year the Los Angeles Clippers are returning to celebrity favor and are a contending team in the strike-shortened season. Billy Crystal and Frankie Muniz are always regular Clipper fans but who else is joining the celebrity fans ranks? Drop by and see for yourself. This coming Monday the Clippers host the New Orleans Hornets. Enjoy an evening watching big stars watching tall athletes.

How Tour Guides Know This Stuff
As we tour Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and other interesting neighborhoods with our guests we often have occasion to tell stories about the sights we are seeing. Our guests are always impressed with our knowledge. Where do we get that information? From books such as M-G-M, Hollywood’s Greatest Backlot. This book and its website provide incredible relevant gems for our staff in the way of anecdotes and facts about the once great studio that we show off in Culver City. If the guests desire a walking tour of the studio we can accompany them and often contribute to the information the docent provides. We recommend this book if you want to learn more about M-G-M.
