We Hear the Trolley Bells
The first leg of the new Expo Line, the latest extension of the Los Angeles light-rail system, opened this past weekend and is running from downtown, past USC, the Coliseum, the Exposition Park museums and almost all the way to Culver City. If you like these new space age trolleys then plan on taking a ride. We urge our guests after a lengthy private luxury tour of downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood to try out our new rail cars just for the experience. Within a few years this line should make it pretty close to Santa Monica beach. After more than 60 years Los Angeles has decided to completely rebuild the former Red Line trolley system that originally helped the city to become the metropolis it is today.
It’s Easy to Get Stuck at the Tar Pits

We often end our luxury private tours with a dramatic stopover at the La Brea Tar Pits and the George Page Museum, especially if we have young people on board. The open pit excavations in the summer are fascinating and the park atmosphere is restful amidst the other museums of Museum Row in Los Angeles' Miracle Mile district.
Brand’s Brand of Humor
If you loved Get Him to the Greek or Arthur then you know the persona of this gangly British comedian/actor. So often during our private luxury tours of Hollywood we are asked who’s playing at the big comedy venues and we talk about the Comedy Store and the Improv. However, we seldom mention the Coronet Theater/Largo, a wonderful, intimate bar and theater complex on La Cienega near Trashy Lingerie. It’s worth attending a performance there just for a drink and a little window shopping next door.

Dance through the Window to City Hall

As seen through Robert Graham's DANCE DOOR, the Los Angeles City Hall is perfectly framed as you look east down what will someday be the new Los Angeles Mall. Our guests love the Music Center fountain (perfect on a hot day) and this particular piece of public art never fails to fascinate. We love bringing our private luxury tour guests visiting Los Angeles and Hollywood to this area to visit the Music Center, the Disney Concert Hall and Our Lady of the Angels cathedral. The Music of Milburn & Vigoda at MBar
Our favorite Disney songwriters, husband and wife team Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda, have invited us to join them at Hollywood’s MBar on Thursday, May 3rd for an evening of delightful songs and music and a whole new perspective on the way the world goes around. And we at Elite Adventure Tours invite you to join us. We will have been out showing our luxury private tour guests the Disney Studio and the Disney Concert Hall and the Disney Store so why would we not want to spend the evening with talented songwriting musicians who help to keep Disney in business.

Kikki Eder’s “Shortcut Through City Terrace”

- While we at Elite Adventure Tours specialize in action tour photography of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and the beaches south of Malibu, our friend Kikki Eder has provided us with a photo of one of her favorite pieces entitled “Shortcut through City Terrace.” We love the painting and the evocative reflection of our favorite city and appreciate her submission to our blog. Please look up Kikki on Facebook and ArtistsWanted.com and enjoy (maybe purchase) her art.
Doo Dah, Doo Dah!
Pasadena is a great city, well operated, major technical university, rocket scientists, historic homes, a magnificent bridge, oh, and that annual New Years Day parade that everyone watches on television before the football game. But when it comes time to loosen its tie, unbutton its collar, slip into something more comfortable and untwist its knickers there is nothing more fun, irreverent and licentious then the annual Doo Dah Parade.
Saturday, April 28th
11:00 a.m.
Colorado Boulevard in East Pasadena
This year’s 35th Annual Doo Dah Parade promises the likes of Snotty Scotty & the Hankies, League of Steam, Conehead Rocket Sled, Hippie Cream, Easy Acres Chicken Sitters, Balkan Brass Band and Mile High Bed, the Army of Toy Soldiers, Mobile Cupcakes, the BBQ & Hibachi Marching Grill Team, Boo Boo Kitty, and the Billionaires. Toss tortillas, look for hidden celebrities like Barry Gordon and Tim Roth, and be a part of the festivities as the paraders march by. It’s cheap (FREE) and easy like the parade queen herself. Sponsored by the Lightbringer Project, a worthy arts foundation, make it a point to join in the fun. Search the internet for Doo Dah and visit their website for more or less information. Elite Adventure Tours likes to bring it private luxury tours guests on a custom tour of Los Angeles to Pasadena to see what can be seen nowhere else.
Hello Hollywoodland!

Taking a private luxury tour group up to the Hollywood sign takes us past the old entrance pillars to Hollywoodland. Also at this location is Hollywoodland Realty where, back in the days when vacant plots of land were being sold to the new population of Hollywood, a bus would be waiting to take potential buyers up into the hills to appraise home sites. Before the bus there was a mule cart. Thank goodness for roads and the internal combustion engine. Even better, we drive a luxury conversion van with snacks, drinks, a widescreen video monitor and hot aromatherapy towels to keep everyone refreshed.
What’s the Porpoise of It All?
You can’t go anywhere without someone tagging along if you look like you are having a good time. And we were. This was a private luxury yacht tour out of Marina del Rey and up the Los Angeles coast to Malibu. We enjoyed a fully catered gourmet lunch. These cetaceans obviously wanted something to eat besides their regular fare (we were having sushi, go figure). As we never travel without a professional digital camera we had no trouble capturing the flight alongside us of these sleek wet mammals. Plan on joining us some day.
Pencil drawing of the Chinese Theater?

As you would expect of a private luxury tour company of Los Angeles that offers professional photography with all its tours, we have many photographs of Grauman's Chinese Theater. All angles, all times of the day and night throughout the year, special events and even rainy days. Since we are masters of digital photography we can go further and augment our photos with artistic flair which never fails to delight our tour guests.
