A Los Angeles Tour Hike to See the Bears
The Bears of Hollywood Viewed by a Los Angeles Tour on a Hike
Sometimes you have to really get close up to see the intricate details that truly showcase what you are seeing. In this case, we and our private Los Angeles tour guests hiked over and around the Mulholland Dam that creates the Hollywood Reservoir (which we call Lake Hollywood) so we could examine the bears adorning the columns between each arch as they stare over Hollywood. The dam was built in 1923 and seemingly destroyed in the disaster movie EARTHQUAKE in 1974. This area is one of the best hiking areas for sightseeing. There is the circuit around the lake and the trail up past the original Batman Bat Cave right up to the Hollywood Sign. Even better, no real bears… any more.
