A Los Angeles Tour Treat – Lunch at Pink’s
A Morning Private Tour into the Afternoon Means
We Need to Stop for Lunch – at Pink’s
A perfect answer to the question “Where should we stop for lunch” when our private Los Angeles tour is sightseeing in Hollywood might by Pink’s. As you can see from the photograph, this Hollywood tradition has been serving up serious hotdogs (and hamburgers) since 1939, the year Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz were released, one of the best years for films ever (10 Oscar nominated films that year, all classics). With Hollywood movies in their heyday Mr. Pink opened up a small hotdog stand on La Brea at Melrose and the public went crazy. We still do as our guests will see by the long lines snaking along the sidewalk in front of the tiny restaurant all through the day and long into the night. If it was just tradition folks would only visit once. But these are truly excellent hotdogs served perfectly and worth a regular visit for lunch or even a late night snack after the movie lets out. Maybe the film wasn’t a classic from 1939 but the food is worth waiting for and a good way to provide time to discuss the film with your friends.
