Robin Williams on the Walk of Fame
Wistful Moment for Our Private Tour in Hollywood
The tragic loss of Robin Williams affected everyone we know and everyone we meet on any private tour of Los Angeles that we do. He was a true Hollywood legend with worldwide appeal. Our recent look back at happier days for Robin at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip generated numerous responses, comments and emails which pleased us and saddened us, too, as so many recalled their best of times being entertained by Robin. These days we cannot help but touch the lingering melancholy when we pass by his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The prominent position on the sidewalk in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater means we will always be near it when we bring our guests to see the famous movie palace, a “must see” stop on any sightseeing excursion in Hollywood. Our more seasoned guests recall his Mork and Mindy breakthrough television show and his incredible realization of Popeye for Robert Altman. Younger guests always want to talk about Night at the Museum (both films) and even Mrs. Doubtfire. The celebrated actor and comedian will be missed but we are thankful that there are places around Hollywood that will always celebrate his beautiful career.
