High on Hollywood Past
Our Private Tour Over Hollywood Sees Things a Little Different Today
The buildings change and the names on the buildings change. That’s life in Los Angeles, a city that is always in transition to the next thing. For example, in this Throw Back Thursday (TBT) aerial photograph we took on a private helicopter tour over Hollywood construction marks where Madame Tussaud’s amazing wax museum will be. The courtyard of Grauman’s Chinese Theater is very easy to distinguish. Today the theater is officially the TCL Chinese Theatre and inside a whole new screen and sound system provides the audience with the largest IMAX auditorium in the world. The theater is one of the most amazing places to see a movie, a fact we stress to our guests while on any private Los Angeles tour we do. Today it is even more amazing! Sometimes we take a tour within a tour and walk through the theater between movies to let our guests get a sense of how many seats there are and how truly beautiful the interior of the theater is. Movie palace is exactly the right description. And finally the Kodak Theatre in the photograph is today the Dolby Theatre, home of the Oscars and the American Idol finals.
