Go Dodgers! Hail Vin Scully
Our Private Tour Learns Some Sports History in Los Angeles
Nothing is better for a city than when its team makes it into the post-season competition. Even transitory fans get into the excitement and begin rooting for the local team to progress through the contests on their way to a world championship. It is too early to say how far the Los Angeles Dodgers will get but we are behind them. That means driving by the stadium and, even better, flying over on a helicopter tour of Los Angeles. The helicopter means we don’t have to hurry past but can really take in the beauty of this storied ballpark set pristinely above the downtown city center, on a hilltop, above a small valley, with extraordinary and beautiful views for its fans. Sadly, though, we talk to our guests about the voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully, who retired after the regular season. We all grew up listening to his voice and think of him in Dodger blue as much as any player arriving in Los Angeles to help the team win. We avoid thinking about next season without him and concentrate our attention and love on this season’s team making it to the World Series.
