2010 saw the buzz about Silver Lake-based indie rock quintet Local Natives reverberate beyond the L.A. music scene to the national level: After the band debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s New Artist Chart with its first full-length album, Gorilla Manor, the musicians quickly earned a spot on the bill of the Coachella music festival and captured the attention of major music critics, who were quick to crown Gorilla Manor among the year’s best rock records. So it seems appropriate that the band’s hometown show on Feb. 26 is hosted at L.A.’s premier music venue, Walt Disney Concert Hall downtown. The location for this concert is primo, giving opportunity for a great fun filled night after one of our Hollywood Tours. The hall’s superb acoustics are all the better to showcase Local Natives’ knack for soaring harmonies and pounding percussion.
