Chef David LeFevre, who earned a Michelin star at downtown’s Water Grill, has opened rustic American eatery M.B. Post in the space of a former post office in Manhattan Beach. Something to mentally gorge on for the moment until you hit up this great place during your Tour of LA. His imaginative seasonal dishes come in small-plate form: Think bacon-cheddar buttermilk biscuits with Vermont maple butter; Devil’s Gulch rabbit with grilled figs and sage; and yellow cauliflower with sultanas, mint and caper berries (pictured). The beverage menu boasts beers, signature cocktails and 100 wines, and the beachy, whimsical space features reclaimed wood and volleyball posts repurposed as shelving.
