22nd Annual Silent Film Gala
May 22. See two Charlie Chaplin movies with a live orchestra. The scores for A Dog’s Life (1918) and Shoulder Arms (1918) were written by Chaplin and adapted for live performance by Timothy Brock. A fun time to be had while you tour LA. The evening will also include Walt Disney’s 1927 short Trolley Troubles with Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The score for Trolley Troubles is being composed especially for this occasion for violin (Margaret Batjer), clarinet (Joshua Ranz), percussion (Wade Culbreath) and piano (Alexander Rannie) by Alexander Rannie who will lead from the keyboard.
