The Last Stand and the One Before That
He didn’t lie. He’s back. Arnold Schwarzenegger has a new action flick, THE LAST STAND, opening this week. Manly man antics and wisecracks, fast cars and chases and lots of explosions and large caliber gunfire — what film thrill seeker could ask for more? Of course, this means we will be leading our private luxury tour guests sightseeing here in Los Angeles to the spot on the forecourt of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood where Arnold stood and kneeled to cement his place in film history with all the other movie stars before him. We are grappling with the news this week that the theater’s naming rights have been sold to Chinese television company TCL. Having not so long ago had the name returned to Grauman’s Chinese Theater we are hoping that the association with Sid Grauman is not lost. At least the theater is authentically Chinese now. Will movie premieres still use a “red carpet”?
