Hitting the Wall at Pink’s in Hollywood
We Photograph the Photos on Our Private Hollywood Tour
You can always tell when you are in a Hollywood business. There will be framed photographs on display of movie and television stars, musicians and celebrities who have patronized the business at one time or another. Generally the photos are signed. Sometimes they are professional headshots or publicity photos and sometimes they are just blowups of pictures taken by the business owner. It is fun to peruse these “walls of fame” and pass the time while you wait. The wall above is at Pink’s Hot Dogs on La Brea at Melrose in Hollywood. One of the greatest hot dog stands in America. Always crowded. Open late into the night. Popular with the midnight movie and nightclub crowd and, apparently, lots of folks with familiar faces from movies and television. Pink’s is also a favorite stopping point on a private Los Angeles tour with us, yes, to see this terrific wall of fame but also to enjoy the great Kosher franks Pink’s is famous for. Since 1939 Pink’s has been synonymous with Hollywood hot dogs — and not the kind that beleaguered producers have to deal with.
