Fig & Olive — Cuisine from the Riviera in Los Angeles
Fig & Olive — a Favorite Recommendation on Our Private Tour
The smells and tastes of the south of France, Italy and Spain permeate the senses at one of our favorite restaurants, Fig & Olive, located in West Hollywood on Melrose Place. The display (above) of fine olive oils is just one clue that the ambiance will be elegant and restful and that your tastebuds will be satisfied. The wide open and airy 2-story restaurant is a sister of several original restaurants in New York begun by Laurent Halasz with the menu created by Pascal Lorange. Both men are from the south of France and have done a remarkable job of bringing that food and dining experience to the United States and here to Los Angeles.
The Mediterranean-inspired cuisine brings food to your table prepared in specific olive oils (when called for) which are described in the menu. A meal at Fig & Olive is a lesson in cooking with olive oil and one you will surely appreciate. The foods are light and refreshing, whether from the sea, the pasture, or the orchard and perfectly suited to our own Mediterranean climate. We cannot say enough good things about Fig & Olive which is why we recommend it so highly and often drive down Melrose Place to show it off to our private Los Angeles tour guests. Close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood it is no wonder that movie stars and the president would dine here but, really, it is the magnificent food that keeps everyone coming back and telling their friends and, in our case, referring our special private tour guests.
