Brown to Green in Hollywood
Our Private Tour Learns About the Chaparral Flora and the Rainy Season
We Californians are outdoorsy. Especially here in the southland. Nice weather almost every day of the year means there is no excuse not to go hiking in the hills around Los Angeles. We bring our Los Angeles private tour groups up to see the Hollywood Sign which can involve a nice walk through the nearby hills. Walking through the tall grasses and shrubs allows our guides to talk about our climate and ecology which we all learn even outside of school. There are informational signs along the hiking trails and bulletin boards at the trailheads and all kinds of trail maps, books and websites which instruct us on why things are the way they appear. For instance, our rainy season is now beginning (on the early side of normal) which means the brown vegetation will be rejuvenated with the rainfall and cooler temperatures and turn green. The summer brown season becomes the winter green season. Insect stages will progress and we will see different forms of our familiar bugs. In some ways it is Spring in October and November. Like Camelot, though, we get our rain mostly at the end of the day and through the night. Daytimes tend to be clear and temperate. Perfect for sightseeing! If it does rain, don’t worry, we bring along umbrellas and still provide a fantastic Los Angeles tour adventure for our guests.
