A Favorite Private Tour Stop in
Hollywood – Sweet!
Better than the Disney Store, better than souvenir shops or even Baby Gap, our young guests love when we take them into Sweet! Despite all the activity in preparation for the Oscars ceremony all around the store at Hollywood and Highland, right next to the Dolby Theatre where the Academy Awards are presented, nothing grabs our girls’ attention like the goodies inside this great candy store. More than your usual Wall of Confections this place is interactive. You can make personalized candy with names and logos or even design your own chocolate bar. The selection of candies, too, rivals any other store of this kind. There is nothing like a little sugar rush to keep the youngsters interested in walking around Hollywood on a private Los Angles tour and watching all the moving parts getting ready for the big show.
The Next Shirley Temple on Our Private Hollywood Tour
Animal crackers in her soup, lions and tigers loop-da-loop….isn’t she just precious? She was so photogenic, as were her siblings, that it is a very good thing their private Los Angeles tour guide had a digital SLR camera to take LOTS of pictures for the family’s photo album of their tour around Hollywood and Beverly Hills. They had photos by the Hollywood Sign and at the La Brea Tar Pits and got to see the Nickelodeon and Jim Henson Studios. Naturally, our guides know where the stars’ homes are of celebrities that the kids know (including one where Shirley Temple lived). Her smile was ear to ear the whole time she was with us even though she has probably never seen one of the 40 or so feature films Shirley Temple made.
Photos with Stars on a Private Hollywood Tour
Some of the characters we photograph our private Los Angeles tour guests with do not move and take perfect photographs all the time. Like Shrek, above, photographed with the lovely Brooke Saward, a travel writer who spent two days journeying with us through Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the beach communities of Marina del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu earlier in the year. (Be sure to visit Brooke’s website if you like to travel.) Madame Tussaud’s wax museum in Hollywood (where Shrek hangs out) really captures the personalities and personas of movie and television stars and characters that will appeal to all ages but the kids will really love seeing all their favorite magical and animated characters standing there — almost real. Our custom private tour can truly cater to a child’s imagination and interests stopping at numerous young person-friendly locations all through Los Angeles. Nickelodeon, Henson Studios, the tar pits, museums of the strange, unusual and weird, and parks and trails steep with dirt and Hollywood history. Most important — all of our tour guides speak “kid.”
This was simply an interesting photograph taken during one of our private luxury tours of Los Angeles by our tour specialist, Nic, but when we were reviewing our photographs a discussion ensued in the office about children’s books and writers we know. We visited the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) website and learned more about the folks behind the sign. Now we are discussing writing a children’s tour book of Los Angeles including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Venice, Santa Monica and Malibu.
We conduct hundreds and hundreds of custom private luxury tours every year for families visiting Los Angeles who want to see Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Malibu up close as only we can. The families with very small children always endure the difficulty of managing necessary equipment for their babies. But who wants to fly with car seats and cribs and vaporizers and perambulators and all the other appurtenances of a young family?
The solution we admire and make good use of is TravelingBaby.com. This company delivers to you (or us in the case of a car seat and stroller for a tour) all the high quality baby equipment you can desire. Cribs are assembled and waiting in your hotel room when you arrive. Their service is as professional and friendly as ours which is one of the many reasons we so highly recommend them.
While we are based in Los Angeles and use TravelingBaby.com in this sunny location they have agencies throughout the country. Visit their website if you travel with your baby or small child and would prefer having someone else handle all the cumbersome equipment you need at your destination.
