For Some of Our Special Private Tour Guests.
So many of our private Los Angeles tour guests are here for a very special occasion: wedding, anniversary, graduation, retirement, Oscar ceremony, there are too many occasions to list. When we know this is the case we always try to make their tour with us even more special. One way we do this is by having our custom luxury van stocked with treats from DeLuscious Cookies & Milk. We have been pleased to use their products since they started back in 2002. Their menu of cookie selections has beloved recipes that cookie lovers expect as well as, like the Red Velvet Cookie-Cake above for your Valentine, unexpected treats each month. While we stock our vans with DeLuscious cookies for special occasions we also rely on DeLuscious to deliver cookie gift boxes for us when we want to recognize a special occasion for friends and colleagues.
Hollywood Farmers’ Market Has Exceptional Desserts for Our Private Tour
Our private Los Angeles tour guests are always curious about the Hollywood Farmers’ Market as we show them through Hollywood on Sunday mornings. Why is there such a large crowd south of Hollywood Boulevard around Ivar Avenue? Well, for more than 20 years (they were one of the first urban produce markets of this kind) Los Angeles has enjoyed fresh farm produce, crafts and artisan cooked and baked goods available in this central Hollywood location. Today there are over 160 stands situated along the blocked off streets. One of our favorites is Exceptional Desserts by Marybeth. Baking from natural ingredients (including vegan and gluten-free choices) her tangy lemon crunch bars are to-die for and the chocolate chip cookies mouth-watering. So good that Marybeth is now bringing her fine desserts to the cast of the new sitcom Surviving Jack. You don’t have to be a television actor to enjoy these treats. If you are out on a private custom luxury tour of Los Angeles with us on a Sunday morning each of our guides will suggest stopping at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market. Take them up on it! We’ll get the coffee for you.
A Private Tour for Dessert in San Diego
After a full day of touring San Diego including Balboa Park (San Diego Zoo), Coronado Island (Seal Team Six, Del Coronado Hotel), and the magnificent harbor and Gaslamp District, our private luxury tour group needed just a little something special before getting on the road back to Los Angeles. Something sweet and tasty. Right there on Mile 1 of the Little Italy walking route in downtown San Diego is Extraordinary Desserts, a bakery restaurant that should be on the top of everyone’s list of places to go when visiting California’s southernmost coastal city. Our server, Cindy, gave us a luxury private tour of the dessert display after we were overwhelmed by the selections in the menu. This was somewhat late in the evening and the place was hopping and the dessert case still full of fresh-baked delights to choose from to accompany our organic coffee and special imported tea. There is much more than dessert served at this elegant and pleasing restaurant, all of it gourmet, choice, and drawing from especially selected ingredients and culinary artistry. We tip our hats to chef Karen Krasne and the delightful staff at Extraordinary Desserts.
A Great Private Los Angeles Tour Stop
It is the Wrong Way only if you do not like ice cream. Really special homemade gourmet organic ice cream. Sweet Rose Creamery has its own ice cream chef, Shiho Yoshikawa, who works only with local organically grown ingredients to create her recipes the likes of which you have never tasted. Just a small sample from this month’s menu:
- Honey Ginger
- Candied Blood Orange w/ Vanilla Wafer Cookie
- Blueberry Muffin
- Peaches & Cream
- Earl Grey
- Strawberry Frozen Yogurt
- Roasted Apricot Buttermilk Sherbet
- Plum Sherbet
- Summer Melon
- Sweet Corn
Taking great pains to use local organic dairy products and produce from sustainably grown orchards and farms they employ a philosophy that yields ice cream to die for and that will not kill the planet. Pasteurized on site the ice cream is pure and fresh with a menu that changes monthly. They even bake their own cones. Since we often find ourselves driving in Brentwood on our private Los Angeles tour we can subtly suggest to our guests what a wonderful opportunity it is to stop for an unforgettable ice cream snack. Our subtle suggestions generally have us stopping pretty quick for a cold refreshing treat.
The same natural, organic, locally grown ingredients philosophy abides at Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan’s other restaurants, Rustic Canyon Wine Bar and Seasonal Kitchen, Huckleberry Café, and Milo & Olive. Santa Monica is lucky to have these restaurants and we are sure glad we know so much about them and can recommend them heartily.
Individually wrapped fresh baked cookies, numerous varieties to choose from, delivered with cold glass-bottled milk is what Deluscious in Hollywood is all about. And these really are superb cookies. Nothing is held back or scrimped. Real sugar, butter, no additives or preservatives, all the sweetness and taste you remember from grandma’s kitchen.
DeLuscious hand delivers its goodies in the Los Angeles area. You don’t have to be in town to enjoy this particular treat fro they ship overnight to the rest of the U.S. and Canada. Our private luxury tour guests will from time to time enjoy a DeLuscious box right in our van when we pick them up just because we like our guests and treat them from time to time to something special.
