Private Tour on the 4th then Americafest at Night
Friday is the Fourth of July so now is a good time to begin planning where you want to be for the most spectacular fireworks display that evening. There are many locations with parties and celebrations to choose from throughout Los Angeles. One of the most celebrated fireworks display is the annual pyrotechnic tour de force at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena. They call the party Americafest and it is one of the best. The USS Iowa offers a day long party and there are fireworks after dark in nearby Cabrillo Beach – perfect for those who love a military touch to their Independence Day festivities. The Queen Mary continues its ironic tradition of celebrating the British “emancipation” of the colonies while downtown Los Angeles makes good use of the new Grand Park LA by offering a rooftop fireworks display. We will be making suggestions all week to our private Los Angeles tour guests about where to go Friday night to see huge colorful airborne explosions and maybe even show them where to go during the week while they are sightseeing with us.
Take a Private Tour to Pasadena for July 4th
The best of the best, Pyro Spectaculars, once again has choreographed a full half-hour show of bombs, rockets, ground displays and all sorts of flaming and flying explosive tributes to our country’s independence at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA. Called Americafest, this is the best fireworks show in Southern California at one of the most beautiful spots anywhere around. This historic venue, almost through a novel rehabilitation and renovation that will keep it hosting America’s favorite college football game well into the next century, is the best place to spend the entire day celebrating Independence Day. Among the various activities in and around the stadium on July 4th are a motorcycle stunt show, military aircraft flyovers, parachutists, a kids’ activities area, and lots of food and drink available for purchase. For music the special guests are The Mariachi Divas and Kenny G. It is quite a day and quite a night for picnickers, families and anyone else wanting to see the best fireworks show in Southern California in one of the prettiest places in the area. We suggest you enjoy a private Los Angeles tour in the morning and have us drop you and your picnic basket off at the Rose Bowl to celebrate.
Hollywood Bowl Lights Up The Night
The beauty of the spectacular Hollywood Bowl 4th of July Fireworks Show is that it lasts 3 nights. This year you can buy tickets to hear Josh Groban on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, July 2nd – July 4th. This is such a Los Angeles/Hollywood thing to do that the 18,000 seat amphitheater is guaranteed to fill up each of the nights. And take our word for it, any concert at the Hollywood Bowl is spectacular, this is just more so. If you have never attended an event at the world famous Hollywood Bowl this is a good time to plan one. There are a number of fireworks shows during the season but for the Independence Day celebration nothing is spared. Also, Josh Groban is a local boy, a Los Angeleno, with an international following and a bizillion likes on his Facebook page. So pack up your picnic stuff, bring your favorite wine, cheese and desserts and plan to join a whole lot of patriotic music lovers for an unforgettable evening. Also, like our private Los Angeles tour guests, you can swing by the park early to visit the Hollywood Bowl Museum and walk the grounds.
There are over 400 firework displays across the United States at sundown on July 4th. One of the biggest and the best is the pyrotechnic show culminating a day of fun and celebration at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. The field in front of the stadium is open all day to Independence Day revelers and the Family Fun Zone offers games and treats for everyone. Music, bands, parachutists and special military aircraft flyovers makes for a great day of patriotism and summer enjoyment. We plan be there ourselves and probably with out-of-town visitors who have loved their private, luxury tour of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and maybe even Venice and Malibu (custom tours are our specialty) and who want to see the grandaddy of fireworks shows while they are in Los Angeles.
The fireworks themselves are presented by Pyro Spectaculars from nearby Rialto, CA. A family business since the early 1900’s in San Francisco, Manuel de Souza had his business grow and flourish with each successor — Alfred, then Bob and now Manuel’s great-grandson Jim. In the wings are Jim’s sons Paul and Christopher, both licensed fireworks technicians. The company offers a 2-year training program if you are interested in bombs bursting in air and rockets red glare.
A Safe and Happy
4th of July to everyone
from Elite Adventure Tours!
Since 1969 the Hollywood Bowl has incorporated fireworks into the July 4th concerts which thrill and delight the 18,000 fans seated up the hill admiring the orchestra shell illuminated against the darkening Hollywood hills. Great music, either your own picnic dinner or a choice of excellent food available at the Bowl, you have in store a super special patriotic evening.
We often visit the Hollywood Bowl with our private tour guests here in Los Angeles to see Hollywood, celebrity homes in Beverly Hills and Bel Air and the nearby beach communities. During the day the area is just a park with a history museum and a great band shell so on a custom luxury tour we can walk around and take photographs and talk about Los Angeles in the 1920’s when the Bowl began.
