A Downtown Los Angeles Tour Gets to the Staples Center
Fall and winter sports are underway and this clear aerial photograph from one of our private helicopter tours of Los Angeles shows the downtown area named L.A. Live. Foremost is the Staples Center where the Lakers and the Clippers play basketball and the L.A. Kings play hockey through spring. That’s a lot of locker room sharing and floor changing for the teams and staff of the arena but each team is doing well and brings fans to downtown Los Angeles most evenings of the week. The photograph also shows the J.W. Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels and the Nokia Theater and Grammy Museum. Sports and entertainment is what this part of town is all about. Very nearby is USC for college basketball and football fans. We should point out that dining is also a popular sporting and entertainment activity and that this neighborhood offers plenty of venues to pursue good eating.
An Elite Adventure Tour Means Elite Vehicles
We not only pick you up at your hotel (or any other location you specify) but we drive you right up to the aircraft when you are enjoying a private helicopter tour of Los Angeles. Our custom van seats six passengers in ultimate comfort and luxury and is the best way to visit neighborhoods and sights on the ground in Hollywood and Beverly Hills or along the coast in Venice Beach or Malibu. Our Eurocopter Twinstar gets us around southern California quickly and comfortably, from Santa Catalina Island to Malibu to San Diego. We offer exciting tour experiences in Santa Barbara, Palm Springs and San Diego because we can fly there quickly and truly enjoy the airborne journey.
Private Los Angeles Tour Vehicles
While awaiting takeoff clearance we had a chance to take this photograph of our custom luxury van near the Aerostar helicopter our guests were flying on their Los Angeles tour that day. Their one hour flight around the city of Los Angeles included dramatic ocean views at low altitude along the beaches up to Malibu followed by exciting looks at the Santa Monica Mountains and canyons. Celebrity homes and mansions all along the way as well as all the notable landmarks of Los Angeles like the Hollywood Sign, Dodger Stadium, the Coliseum, the Hollywood Bowl and Greek Theater, Griffith Observatory, Beverly Hills Hotel, Playboy Mansion and so much more! Not only that, but after the flight we provide a 3-hour ground tour of some of those same sights up close and personal. The 1-hour flight plus 3-hour ground tour is one of our most popular tour packages. Plan one for yourself on your next visit to Los Angeles.
Rollercoaster season is here and we are not talking about following our favorite baseball team (Dodgers, Angels, anyone?). We are thinking about a day riding every possible configuration of speeding, high-g cars on tracks twisting and turning in all possible directions; specifically Six Flags Magic Mountain just north of Los Angeles in Valencia, California. And nothing makes the day better than a private helicopter tour arriving and departing in a luxury French helicopter. Talk about enjoying the feeling of being airborne as we swoop through canyons and over both city and farms in luxury and comfort to land right at the park for a day of thrills and action photography. It is hard for our guests to decide which is more fun to ride, the rollercoasters or the helicopter.
Let us make all the arrangements, including air transportation, for your family’s visit to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It will be a day none of you will forget and you will have the photo album to remind yourself, your family and your friends.
We not only arrange and guide your private Los Angeles tour around Hollywood but we get photos of you taking photos. You get to star in the digital memories of your tour. And, in general, our digital SLR camera takes much better photos than a phone or pocket camera. We do this every day so we know when and where to get the great photos. We will help you take some amazing photographs, too. Your friends will really be impressed by the images you capture of celebrity homes in Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Malibu as well as all the great sightseeing destinations of Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles and the beach communities.
A Great Aerial Photo from our Los Angeles Tour
Approaching Malibu along the shoreline we look down from our helicopter to see the incredible structure that is the Getty Villa. This museum houses the Getty antiquities collection consisting of more than 44,000 statues and artifacts from ancient Rome, Greece and Etruria (whence Etruscan). From this vantage point our private Los Angeles tour guests can see the grounds, gardens and amphitheater of this fine art destination where they can later go to enjoy several guided tours. The museum opened in 2006 and provides a perfect complement to the J. Paul Getty Museum looming high above the villa in the Santa Monica Mountains (though readily accessible from the 405 Freeway). If you are a devotee of glass art you will want to visit the Getty Villa to see the Oppenländer collection of ancient glass now on exhibit. Our 3-hour ground tour (part of a combination Los Angeles helicopter and ground tour) can take you back past the Getty Villa on a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu.
Paramount Studios Seen from Our Helicopter Tour
A couple of us at Elite Adventure Tours enjoyed working at Paramount Pictures in the heart of Hollywood. The studio is the last remaining facility still in Hollywood proper where it has been making movies (and television) for more than 100 years. Having just celebrated its centennial the lot is a regular destination on our private Hollywood tours. For interested guests we can make reservations for a VIP tour of the studio itself to visit the back lot, the tank (where water scenes are filmed) as well as soundstages for television and movies. The photograph above was taken on a combination helicopter tour of Los Angeles followed by a ground tour — a complete look at all the grand sights of the city. Let us show you the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. Sightseeing with us to where the stars live (in Beverly Hills and Malibu) and work (Hollywood, Culver City, Burbank) makes a visit here extraordinary and special.
The BEST Tour – Sightsee in Los Angeles by Helicopter
Maybe the Hollywood Sign is no longer a hiking destination (it’s protected after all) but that grand landmark is still the foremost destination for our private Hollywood tour on the ground in our custom van and especially for any of our helicopter flights in and around Los Angeles. We offer a number of amazing pre-planned helicopter adventure tours departing from several different Los Angeles helipads and we are more than happy to customize any kind of flight plan and adventure you have in mind.
Echo Park Sparkles on a Helicopter Tour of Los Angeles
A private Los Angeles tour, as no surprise to anyone, covers a lot of Hollywood history. This wonderful aerial photograph taken during one of our private Los Angeles helicopter tours shows Echo Park and its beautiful lake. The original movie studios built in Los Angeles prior to World War I were constructed in this area before moving over to Hollywood proper. The first fully-enclosed studio, built by Mack Sennett, is still standing as are some of the ancillary buildings of that great studio. A studio no longer but a destination on many of our ground tours through Los Angeles. Also, not all movie and television stars live in Beverly Hills, Bel Air and Malibu. Many prefer the more urban surroundings, the more varied culture and the proximity to downtown Los Angeles. We are talking Tom Mix and Steve McQueen here. More current names we will keep to ourselves except when we are showing off our great town on a private luxury tour.
That is the distinctive Chateau Marmont Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in W. Hollywood in the center of this cool aerial photograph snapped on a recent helicopter tour of Los Angeles. Originally opened in 1929 to be an elegant and distinctive Hollywood residence, business conditions during the depression forced the conversion of the building into a luxury hotel. Now officially a cultural landmark the hotel is rife with great tales of Hollywood celebrities past and present. Our private luxury tour guests had already seen the downtown skyline (from between the buildings) and the beach along Venice and Santa Monica from just above the waves all the way up to the Malibu Colony. Rising up into the Santa Monica Mountains they flew over elegant hidden estates in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, Bel Air and Beverly Hills before getting to this part of Hollywood. From here they flew over to the Hollywood Bowl and saw the Hollywood Sign from a birds’ eye view. This popular flying adventure is in combination with a 3-hour private ground tour back through Hollywood and Beverly Hills to see everything again from street level.
