Let’s Get This Private Tour to Where the Kids’ Film Studios Are
We meet lots of families and enjoy carloads of children over the summer when mostly everyone is out of school. We also see them during winter and spring breaks. Parents of those families joining us for a Los Angeles private tour regularly question us before the tour about making the sightseeing interesting for kids. We assure them that our G-rated tour covers all the bases. We get the parents over to Paramount Studios and the Culver Studios and talk about kid-friendly productions associated with the old studios at the same time we talk about the history and the movie and tv stars familiar to the adults. But then we venture over to studios like Nickelodeon on Sunset, a former night club and then legitimate theater with a wonderful Los Angeles history that today is the home of a number of “Nick” presentations like Henry Danger. There are other Nickelodeon locations around that we can visit for the young folks aboard as well as the Jim Henson Studios (originally Charlie Chaplin’s studio) just around the corner in Hollywood from Nickeldeon on Sunset. Also, we make it a point to explain to everyone what a nickelodeon is. That’s right, it’s a thing, a place from the very earliest days of the movie industry.
Their Private Tour Took Off Over Los Angeles
We have an exciting ground tour that is an adventure for our guests of all ages. For our younger passengers there are wonderful parks to run, jump and climb in that make a private sightseeing tour more than riding around in a really nice car all day and looking at stuff. There are costumed characters, film studios that specialize in kids’ movies and television shows, bubbling pools of liquid tar, extreme skate parks, sandy beaches, amusement rides…there is just about anything you can think of that will impress an energetic young person. But the very best thing is a ride in a luxury helicopter. From take off to landing the kids are fascinated with the whirlybird’s flight whether we are high up over the mountains with views from Catalina Island (where we can fly if we want as our aircraft are all twin-engine) to Malibu and the whole Los Angeles basin…or down low skimming along the Pacific Ocean where the porpoises, whales, seals and sea lions respond to us as we slow and hover above. Mom and dad are interested in the celebrity homes lining the shore and the grand mansions built on the mountain slopes above the beach. Combining both a private custom tour in our SUV with a long aerial tour over and around Los Angeles is as memorable an experience of L.A. as any amusement park…even Disneyland.
Our Guest Brings His Own Wheels on a Private Tour of Hollywood
We put skateboards into our luxury SUV more often than skates but all wheels are welcome. We have some gnarly hills in Hollywood and Beverly Hills for the young daredevils on our tours who want an incredible action picture to show their friends when they get home from their visit to Los Angeles. A private sightseeing tour of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, even the Los Angeles beaches does not have to be dull and boring for young travelers. Besides knowing where there are fun footpaths and trails, great snack shops and cool souvenir shops, we know where the young folks hang out and the young stars live and work. No matter how young our guests we can stop at destinations and sights that will amuse and amaze them. Who knows, maybe we’ll see Justin Bieber draining a milkshike at Mel’s Drive-in or Jennette McCurdy picking out the perfect purse at DASH. Maybe everyone would like to ride the carousel at Griffith Park or the one at the Santa Monica Pier (where there are other amusements right above the ocean). Surfing lessons, anyone?
Private Tours Are For Kids, Too
We really appreciate that parents ask us about how much fun their children might have on a private tour of Los Angeles with us. We love that they care about their interests as we drive around surrounded by so much movie history and technology. What will interest a child in and around Hollywood? Well, being just big kids ourselves (or in touch with our inner child), we know where to go to keep the young folks aboard our tours fascinated and engaged while also informing and captivating their parents. One terrific location is the La Brea Tar Pits. Green grass fields interrupted with stinky tar pits. In the summer there are people down in the tar pits playing in the muck (really, scientists carefully removing fossils). The Page Museum has reconstructed skeletons of some of the creatures that roamed the area long before movie stars did. Giant sloths, saber-tooth cats, camels, mastodons, dire wolves…all sorts of monsters most folks do not associate with Los Angeles, at least not like they think of Frankenstein, Dracula and Wolfman. We can also visit the Nickelodeon Studios and the Henson Studios, a celebrity dog park, the Venice Skate Park, Fern Gully in Griffith Park, the carousel in Griffith Park or on the Santa Monica Pier. Depending on what the kids like there are all sorts of parks and trails, celebrity homes and hangouts that will interest them. We make lots of stops for running around and climbing and know the best places to stop for treats and drinks. Lunch where the waiters sing (Miceli’s) or the best hot dogs in Hollywood (Pink’s). Believe us when we say the kids will not forget their custom tour of Los Angeles. And the parents will have some really wonderful photographs of the kids loving L.A.
Kid Friendly Los Angeles Tour – That’s Us!
Our guides are really just big kids who follow the Muppets like everyone else. And Nickelodeon shows. They love to have young folks aboard their private Los Angeles tour as an excuse to swing by favorite places to see for the children and teens visiting Hollywood. Places like the Jim Henson Company studios where Kermit the Frog, as Chaplin’s Little Tramp, bids hello to passersby. The historic Hollywood studio (Charlie Chaplin, Herb Alpert, Jim Henson) remains busy to this day. There are also Nickelodeon studios to see, a living tar pit to explore (and a great hill to roll down nearby), a park with a giant fig tree and another where you can throw balls to celebrity dogs. Yes, moms and dads, a Los Angeles tour can be very young person friendly. Want to see where Justin Bieber lives?
