Ambiance always attracts, and when it comes to cool roof top hang outs with amazing views, I am always drawn in for a peek. Located atop the Hotel Erwin overlooking the Pacific Ocean, High is a Venice Beach open-air lounge, where the nightly sunset is captivating and calming!
High takes full advantage of its outdoor location with 360 degree views of the city and famed Venice beach community. With an inviting, “no velvet ropes” attitude and a comfortable, contemporary design, tourists and locals alike mingle and enjoy a drink menu of premium handcrafted cocktails, artisan beers, interesting wines and light snacks after experiencing one of he luxury LA tours. Check out the view @ 1697 Pacific Avenue Los Angeles (Venice Beach), CA 90291 P: 310.452.1111
There is a line that forms daily on Little Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills, CA. Sweet cakey goodness like no other is what makes Sprinkles so special. I always gravitate back toward the Red Velvet Cup Cake; but there is simply no way to go wrong.
Do not let the line outside the door intimidate you. There is very little standing room inside the front door and it creates the illusion that the line is longer than it is. I have never waited more than 20 minutes, which is worth every second if you have to. Enjoy them fresh! The perfect guilty pleasure before or after star tours Hollywood. Sprinkles Beverly Hills is located @ 9635 Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. (310) 274-8765
Prior to a Clippers game, I was finally able to try Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, at LA LIVE downtown, and loved every aspect of it. The restaurant is masterfully designed by Tony Chu, serving excellent food from chefs John Lechleidner and Dustin Lewandowski.
Wolfgang’s Bar & Grill showcases his signature comfort food with a variety of inventive dishes drawing inspiration from his renowned fine dining restaurants ranging in price to accommodate varying budgets. The restaurant offers creative salads, wood-oven baked pizzas, handmade pastas, enticing entrees and meats grilled over hard wood. If you are planning to tour Los Angeles, dining here will allow you to blend right in as a “Los Angelenos.” Also, if you happen to notice a family resemblance with the General Manager, Wolfgang’s brother Klaus Puck is partner and manager! 800 W Olympic Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90015 – (213) 748-9700

Yesterday, I was doing what I like to call “Professional Ease Dropping” while on Rodeo drive. Generally speaking, women unlike most men like to share their experiences with the process of “consumer spending” where as men typically like to simply show off the toys they bought. I digress. Two ladies chatting at 2 Rodeo Drive were talking about Pre-owned Luxury HandBags. So there I was 5 feet away Googling it on my Blackberry. Turns out, Fashionphile is the largest pre-owned luxury handbag business in the country. It is a family-owned and operated business, located just off of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, CA.
Founder Davis says, “I started Fashionphile in 1999 as a way to pay off my law school loans. Over time, and with an enormous amount of help from my family, Fashionphile has earned an un-rivaled national reputation for selling only authentic luxury bags. Our mission is to make shopping for pre-owned bags easy, fun, and safe.” The fact that I find this stuff interesting, even though I do not own a hand bag and never will, explains why I often look down at my shirt to see if it reads, “sightseeing tours Los Angeles.” I suppose I just like to know, and share, then know some more. So if handbags stir the urge for you to “consume” go to: 9551 Wilshire Blvd Beverly Hills, California 90210 / or call: 310.279.1136
U.S. Coast Guard helicopters are not to be mistaken for any other. The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Los Angeles is located at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The unit started as an aviation detachment in 1962 with two HO-4s helicopters and has since grown to a station supporting four HH-65C “Dolphin” Helicopters. Air Station Los Angeles maintains a Search and Rescue helicopter 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is responsible for protecting the coastal area of Southern California from Dana Point to Morro Bay. On average, 200 SAR (search and rescue) cases are prosecuted every year. In addition to SAR, Air Station LA helicopters provide Homeland Security Patrols for the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and Port Hueneme in Ventura County.
The Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach comprise the largest cargo seaport in the United States and the fifth busiest in the world moving over 15 million containers every year. In Addition to container traffic, the seaport is also the largest Cruise Ship port on the west coast. Additional Homeland Security responsibilities include the over water approach and departure corridors for Los Angeles International Airport, which handles more international flights than any other airport in the country. Over 60 million passengers on California tours, ect. and 1.8 millions tons of cargo travel through LAX each year. Finally, Air Station Los Angeles helicopters and personnel protect the ecologically rich waters surrounding the Channel Islands National Parks.
News helicopters in LA are just part of the sky scape. Today we are accustomed to perfect HD news images that flow smoothly across our plasmas without a shake or shimmer. In 1958 – Television station KTLA became the first to use a news helicopter, and they cleverly called it the Telecopter, changing news history forever.
In general, helicopters in LA are highly leveraged as instrumental tools in police work, fire fighting, news reporting, rescue, and even the escorted tour for the ambitious visitor. As a side note, the original KTLA Telecopter sure looks a lot like the one in MASH!
When visiting LA, or any place far from home, perhaps the last thing on the agenda would be to go out and see a movie. Yet, let me be the first to tell you that Grauman’s Chinese Theater has been around since 1927 and practically ever celebrity since then has sat in this theater for a movie premiere. If the walls could talk they would have a lot to say!
Typically on visitors are attracted to the famous hand prints of the stars in the courtyard. 365 days a year, you will find crowds there at almost any time of the day and night. LA tours are always stopping at the famous theater, but over the years I have learned that most do not actually enjoy a movie there. Do it I say! The interior and exterior of this landmark is worth your full attention.
