Not Too Many Homes Have Helipads for Our Luxury Tour
We are still very excited about our Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate private tour for our Los Angeles guests. Flying to the vineyard estate just adds to our guests’ enjoyment. As you see above we land on a helipad adjacent to the home which is situated on top of a Malibu mountain. The views from all around the home are incredible and not just at sunset. It is easy to understand why this is a perfect filming location for television and movies. Once inside the home our guests see why Los Angeles party planners covet the estate for important social events and why Hollywood celebrities want to host private parties in this luxurious home where there are no neighbors to disturb. Malibu definitely has something to offer that you cannot find in Beverly Hills.
Enjoy a Private Tour to Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate
More than 10 acres of vineyards at the top of a Malibu hillside and a golden crowning jewel is Malibu Rocky Oaks. This exquisite Tuscan home glows even when it is not sunset. Fine wines, breathtaking views, art and architecture that makes our private Los Angeles tour guests feel like royalty. We are now welcome to visit with our custom tour guests and experience this 9,000 ft² home set amid the 35 acre estate at over 2,000′ above the nearby Pacific Ocean. Sit in luxurious comfort beside the infinity pool and sample from many of the estate’s award-winning wines. Remember episodes of The Bachelorette or the Kardashian family filmed here or many of the other Hollywood productions that have taken advantage of the setting for their movies and television shows. There is even a helipad where we can land our helicopter when our guests prefer to fly to Malibu Rocky Oaks.
Santa Monica Beach on a Los Angeles Helicopter Tour
Southern California has great wide white sandy beaches that you rarely see empty like this. The shadows indicate an early morning helicopter flight for us departing from Santa Monica airport and taking a good look at the vibrant coastal city as we head up to Malibu. That’s the giant Moreton Bay Fig tree in the foreground growing in the entrance to the Fairmont-Miramar Hotel. Most of the coastline visible is the long and slender community of Malibu, 21-miles of coastline all together. There are no tall buildings in Malibu but we like to point out some great restaurants, fabulous beach homes, incredible mansions in the hills above, and surfing areas deserving of songs (of which there are many). Spending time on the Los Angeles shoreline makes it easy to understand why the stars of the early film industry were drawn here to build their second homes (it took a while in those early days to navigate from Hollywood and Beverly Hills to Santa Monica and Malibu). Get a taste of the good life with a stay in Santa Monica and let us show you around in comfort and style on a private Los Angeles tour.
Our Luxury Tour Guests Love Geoffrey’s in Malibu
With so many beautiful days in southern California throughout the year we have many opportunities to steer our hungry private Los Angeles tour guests to eat lunch (or brunch) at Geoffrey’s in Malibu. Sitting on the deck overlooking the expansive Santa Monica Bay the sun is bright, the skies clear, the air refreshing and then there’s the excellent food and fine service that makes this a very special dining experience. After touring along the coast, visiting Venice Beach, Marina del Rey and Santa Monica, lunch is a perfect respite in the middle of the excursion before we resume our guests’ luxury custom tour and drive out to see Beverly Hills and Hollywood.
Best Ways to See These Celebrity Homes in Malibu
Besides being invited in (we can always hope) the best views of these magnificent homes along the Malibu shoreline are from the sea side. And from the sea we mean either aboard one of our yacht tours up the coast or else flying along the coast on a private helicopter tour and adventure. Malibu has always been the ocean playground for the Hollywood elite. The original Malibu Colony residences have spread up and down the 27-mile length of Malibu, just north of Santa Monica and near Los Angeles. Famous for parties, scandals, fires and devastating storm waves, residents and visitors to the beaches and businesses of Malibu love the community throughout the year, year after year, despite the rare catastrophes and controversy. Much like Beverly Hills, the properties are somewhat hidden from view along the access roads which is why our helicopter and yacht tours are such good ways to see how the ‘Bu folks are living. For just a little while on a custom luxury tour our guests can feel a part of the good life on the Los Angeles coast.
Serious Theater in Malibu After a Fun Private Tour
Malibu Playhouse is producing the west coast premiere of David West Read‘s The Dream of the Burning Boy. The play opens this Friday, September 6th. This is the first production under the aegis of the theater company’s new artistic director, Gene Franklin Smith. Theater lovers visiting Los Angeles, like art lovers, often overlook the quality and quantity of our stage work believing us to be a “movie town” disinterested in theater. Ha! We have more small theater in constant production than New York. How is that? Lots of theatrically trained talent resides here: writers, directors, actors, designers, musicians, and on and on. What do they do between film and tv gigs in Hollywood? “Hey, kids, let’s put on a show!” So, like Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, theater pops up all around the city, not just in formal theater spaces. The Malibu Playhouse has been around since 1990 staging award winning plays with familiar and honored talent. We expect The Dream of the Burning Boy to be as well received as it was in recent east coast and midwest productions. This play probes the effect of the unexpected death of a young man on his teacher, sister and fellow students, how loss brings insight and new life. Enjoy great theater in our oceanside community even if you are not visiting the city and enjoying a private Los Angeles tour experience.
Private Winetasting Tour to Our Own Malibu Wine District
We love catering to our wine loving visitors from all over the globe. Little do they realize how special southern California is when it comes to producing fine wines. A recent private wine tasting tour had us and our guests over to the Cielo Wineyards in Malibu. The beauty of the private wine tasting session, like our private tours, is that our guests have immediate and personal access to the vintners and winemakers, the authorities in the case of each vintage we sample. The settings are peaceful and quiet, sometimes even rustic as we are not always in highly finished bars and restaurants. There are several amazing wineries we visit nearby in Malibu, one we even land at in our helicopter. A number of them have fascinating Hollywood connections. Besides the number of fine wines we can enjoy in the tasting room (pictured above), our private Los Angeles tour guests can also sample and purchase olive oil from the same farms.
Where Do You Want Your Private Hiking Tour Today
Not all Los Angeles tours are about sitting in a bus with a crowd of murmuring people and trying to listen to a tour guide repeat a script for the umpteenth time while pointing out the window at tourist stops in Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We specialize in private custom luxury tours that get you away from the crowds to enjoy parts of Los Angeles that even locals might not know. Our private hiking tours are one way to get around and get out of the vehicle to see, hear and touch the real Los Angeles. This particular hiking tour had us in Malibu exploring the coast from the Malibu Colony up to Pt. Dume. Our guests were exhilarated by the great trails with breathtaking views and sweet sea air. Our cameras catch all the action so we can send our guests home with digital photographs to share along with all the vivid memories they made.
Why a Private Tour in Calabasas
We’ve written here about Dash and the Los Angeles Memorial Pet Cemetery and now we want to get you to Calabasas for the 7th Annual Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival. Set aside either Friday June 21st or Saturday June 22nd for a very special evening. Held atop the Mercedes-Benz dealership you will enjoy the opportunity to drink local wine, beer and spirits as well as taste local food from dozens of participating wineries, breweries and restaurants. Too many fine businesses to list here so click this link to see for yourself all the fine choices and samples you will have available on either of the two evenings of the festival.
Visitors asking us for suggestions for their private Los Angeles tour will certainly hear us suggest heading up to Calabasas, perhaps exploring a Malibu canyon road and Mulholland Drive, and arriving at the festival in time for dinner.
Fly to Malibu for Private Wine Tasting
We call this private Los Angeles tour our URBAN ESCAPE tour. See Los Angeles from the comfort of a luxury helicopter and land at a secluded Malibu winery for a private gourmet picnic lunch and a wine tasting session. While at the winery you can walk through the verdant gardens, hike the vineyards, pet the exotic animals in the small zoo and enjoy all the scenery there is to see away from the noise and hubbub of the city — so close and yet far away. And, of course, there is the wine. Sample and delight in the excellent vintages being offered and accept a gift from the vintner to take with you. This has been our most popular adventure tour for good reason — it’s fun and it tastes good.
