Our Private Tour Happy to See Sofia Vergara
Our guides leave our offices each day with a schedule of activities in and around Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills, even the beach communities of Venice, Malibu and Santa Monica, that might interest their guests on a private Los Angeles tour. Foremost on the list are events where there will be celebrities. So many visitors touring with us are star-bedazzled and we want them to see the movie stars and recording artists out and about if we can. The Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony is always a favorite for our tours and we like them because they are scheduled, regular and in Hollywood where we always are going to be when we are sightseeing. We know where to park and if our guests want we will walk them over to the crowd honoring that day’s new Walk of Fame star. This day it was Sofia Vergara, star of TV’s Modern Family and the new comedy with Reese Witherspoon, Hot Pursuit.
Some Private Tour Guests Just Like
to Look at Large Homes
Movie stars’ homes, celebrity homes … we hear all the famous and infamous personalities associated with Hollywood regularly requested on our private Los Angeles tour. We drive through tiny winding streets up in the hills above Beverly Hills and Hollywood, through Bel Air and Brentwood and Holmby Hills, even Malibu, to make sure our guests have a chance to see the homes of their favorite stars. What we find that our guests really enjoy is seeing all the other homes in these neighborhoods of fabulously expensive mansions with acres of expertly designed and maintained yards and lawns. Wealthy people live there but not necessarily known to us. Business magnates, foreign potentates, lottery winners – we cannot even begin to guess who the residents of these exquisite homes might be. That does not seem to matter to our guests who are delighted to “oooooh” and “aaaaaah” as we pass by driveways and gates and sometimes stop to take a photograph for their tour album.
Harrison Ford Leaves a Divot and an Impression
on Our Private Tour
Our helicopter tour of Los Angeles is generally a big circle that includes close looks at downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu and the shoreline, and all points along the way. At one point we traverse Santa Monica Airport. From here we can see exactly where Harrison Ford used the adjacent Penmar public golf course to crash land his 1942 Ryan Aeronautical ST3KR. As we explain to our private Los Angeles tour guests the flight path and circumstances of the unfortunate accident someone exclaims, “He was so close to the runway.” Yes, he almost made it back. Almost, but not quite. He severely damaged his aircraft (totaled?) and suffered some significant injuries himself. He will have left the hospital and be on the road to recovery as you read this. We wish him good health and a smooth flying and we are really looking forward to seeing Han Solo in the next Star Wars installment (THE FORCE AWAKENS) at the end of this year.
Our Private Tour Guests See This Corner of
Beverly Hills All the Time
This vintage photograph of movie star Cary Grant walking his Siamese cat in Beverly Hills is currently swirling through the internet and landed in our inbox. We pass by this corner regularly as we explore the area of Beverly Hills south of Wilshire Boulevard, “Lower Beverly Hills” to some of the locals, where the less fortunate of the well-to-do live. The movie CLUELESS reminds us that Sunset Boulevard is a dividing line in the social strata much as Wilshire Boulevard is. Three distinct price ranges for homes in this lovely city. The homes here beneath the Golden Triangle are lovely, if modest, and the neighborhoods peaceful, and we love showing the area off to our private Los Angeles tour guests because there are so many celebrity homes around here and stories to be shared.
