Classical Music Loved by Los Angeles

That's the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion below us on this helicopter tour of Los Angeles

Big Music Buildings Impress Our Flying Tour Guests

As any of our guests will tell you when they arrange a helicopter tour of Los Angeles with us, seeing man-made structures from above is completely different from nature’s landscapes.  They are really surprised when they see what we captured in this aerial photograph over downtown Los Angeles.  The odd structure of Frank Gehry‘s Walt Disney Concert Hall across the street from the traditional architecture of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.  Both theaters host classical music concerts like the Los Angeles Philharmonic as well as the L.A. Opera and ballet.  However, the range of music hosted at these two venues far exceeds the confines of classical music.  New symphonic works, jazz, world music – the range is considerable and there always will be something here for all musical tastes.  The Walt Disney Concert Hall extends the opportunities for theatrical culture with its proximity to the Music Center which, besides the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, also includes the Broadway-style Ahmanson Theater and the more intimate Mark Taper Forum.  The presence of these music and theater venues so near Grand Park create a wonderful focus of activity in the newly reinvigorated downtown.  With this activity in the north part of the downtown area and L.A. Live occupying the southern portion there is so much more to see and do right in downtown Los Angeles there is almost no reason to leave…except maybe to visit Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the beach communities on our custom private Los Angeles tour.

After the Disney Concert Hall Party

Photo of our custom luxury van at the Los Angeles Music Center

Morning Private Tour Beats the Crowd

Our custom luxury van really looks like it belongs here in front of the Disney Concert Hall at the Los Angeles Music Center a few days after the big 10th anniversay celebration of the Frank Gehry-designed music palace.  In the background stands the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.  Unseen behind there you will find the Mark Taper Forum and the Ahmanson Theater, both under the auspices of the Center Theater Group.  This is the location in downtown Los Angeles to go for grand orchestra, ballet, opera, chorale, theater and broadway musicals and all the other special events scheduled throughout the year.  Roughly 1.3 million music lovers and playgoers will attend ticketed events here every year.  Then there are the participatory activities which include sing-alongs, dance lessons, group drumming, lectures and presentations.  The Hollywood award shows are no longer staged here but a number of very high profile philanthropic events draw world famous celebrities to raise money for worthy charities.  It is not unusual to see limousines and paparazzi at any time in this vicinity.  We bring our tour guests here when we are cruising the downtown sights of Los Angeles.  Not all of our tours are about Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

Disney Concert Hall Turns Ten

Happy 10th Birthday Disney Concert Hall

Private Downtown Los Angeles Tour Wishes the Facility Happy Birthday

We were there a few days early when we photographed our luxury Los Angeles tour guests in front of the Disney Concert Hall for their tour photo album.  However, we know all about the big celebration planned this Saturday from 10:30am – 2:30pm.  Music, of course, will be everywhere.  Also expect to dance (and learn some new steps), sing, enjoy a brand new “party” experience called Mp3 and eat well from the many food trucks that will be serving the crowd.  An anniversary cupcake will be presented to everyone as part of the day.  The Frank Gehry-designed building stands out at the Los Angeles Music Center downtown from the street and from the air when we fly over on one of our frequent helicopter tours of Los Angeles.
