Every year my family has a reunion at a different city around the country. Past locales include Miami, Boston and Philadelphia, but this year we wanted to venture out to the West Coast, so we came to a consensus on Los Angeles. Since none of us had ever been there, it was a joint venture to find accommodations and various activities to keep us entertained over the four-day weekend.
I was put in charge of the entertainment for Sunday, and since none of us had ever been to the city, I felt like a tour was in order. The only problem was that many companies didn’t have the means to accommodate our extensive family. Luckily, I was able to find an outfit that offered Los Angeles van tours, so we were all able take in the main attractions that LA has to offer.
If you have not been to a Madame Tussauds wax museum yet, you simply have to check one out. I recently visited the new Hollywood location, and while I have heard many great things about the figures, I did not attend with high expectations. As you roam the museum you may have have the slightest apprehension as you approach each figure slowly and your logic tells you it is a wax figure, but at the same time you swear it is about to reach out and shake your hand.
Perhaps the coolest part of of the visit is the photos that are encouraged. In fact, many of the figures have different pieces of clothing you can put on “to blend.” Located amongst what may be the hub for ” tour vans Los Angeles ” take a stroll @ 6933 Hollywood Blvd Hollywood, CA 90028 (323) 798-1670
If you live in LA, the phrase, “Now I have seen it all” should never depart your lips. In fact I have embraced the fun things I encounter on a daily basis as the most enjoyable aspect of being a local!
Seriously, when will I ever see a cat lounging in the back of a cab again? While I enjoy being in a Los Angeles helicopter and flying around above traffic, there are certain sights that only can be see on the ground and in the right place at the right time. I would not make a good paparazzi!
There is a line that forms daily on Little Santa Monica Blvd. in Beverly Hills, CA. Sweet cakey goodness like no other is what makes Sprinkles so special. I always gravitate back toward the Red Velvet Cup Cake; but there is simply no way to go wrong.
Do not let the line outside the door intimidate you. There is very little standing room inside the front door and it creates the illusion that the line is longer than it is. I have never waited more than 20 minutes, which is worth every second if you have to. Enjoy them fresh! The perfect guilty pleasure before or after star tours Hollywood. Sprinkles Beverly Hills is located @ 9635 Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210. (310) 274-8765
Prior to a Clippers game, I was finally able to try Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, at LA LIVE downtown, and loved every aspect of it. The restaurant is masterfully designed by Tony Chu, serving excellent food from chefs John Lechleidner and Dustin Lewandowski.
Wolfgang’s Bar & Grill showcases his signature comfort food with a variety of inventive dishes drawing inspiration from his renowned fine dining restaurants ranging in price to accommodate varying budgets. The restaurant offers creative salads, wood-oven baked pizzas, handmade pastas, enticing entrees and meats grilled over hard wood. If you are planning to tour Los Angeles, dining here will allow you to blend right in as a “Los Angelenos.” Also, if you happen to notice a family resemblance with the General Manager, Wolfgang’s brother Klaus Puck is partner and manager! 800 W Olympic Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90015 – (213) 748-9700
